Cobar High School student Sigrid Barnes was a runner-up in the Australian Museum 2010 Fashion Less Waste awards presented on Thursday night in Sydney. Each finalist’s outfit was mostly made from recycled materials and inspired by one or more Australian animals with Sigrid’s design
inspired by the Satin Bower Bird, Ptilonorhynchus violaceus. The awarded outfits will be on display at the Strand Arcade in June and the Australian Museum in July. Sigrid is pictured above in her creation on the catwalk with Sam Mostyn, President of the Australian Museum Trust.
