Wednesday June 3, 2009

Burgess SUPA IGA led the Cobar effort to raise funds as part of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, hosting a local event last Thursday morning. Among the many
individuals who attended the supermarket where cakes, biscuits, scones, tea and
coffee were Sue Anderson, pictured with Burgess’ Alyce Shepherd and Vicki Philps. In addition, Burgess’ staff prepared and delivered hundreds of trays of morning tea to local businesses. Burgess’ Biggest Morning Tea coordinator Ms Shepherd said the event was well supported, and counting is still underway to determine the total amount raised. The supermarket was recently recognised by the NSW Cancer Council as a major supporter of the event for more than 12 years.
