Women’s netball grand final winners, EveryDay Heroes: Felicity Quirk, Stevi Bishop, Paula Rice, Bobby-Lee Taylor, Rhiana Kershaw, Sussan Nankervis, Wendy Calderwood, Sarah Irvine and Jaimee-Lee Cohen.

With just one goal the difference in the final minute of the women’s netball match on Monday night at the youth centre, it made for a real thriller of a grand final game.

EveryDay Heroes led Ox Sheilas 20-19 with a minute to go on the clock and it seemed as if the Ox Sheilas were going to pull off a great comeback and win the match.

EveryDay Heroes however had worked too hard all game to lose it in the last minute and strong, composed shooting by Bobby-Lee Taylor saw them through to a four goals win.

Ox Sheilas were unable to field a full side and started the match two players short.

They worked hard and with the injection of a late player, they matched EveryDay Heroes goal-for-goal for most of the first quarter .

By half-time EveryDay Heroes had taken control of the match and had taken a comfortable 14-10 lead.

Ox Sheilas played a strong third quarter and got to within a one goal difference but EveryDay Heroes again surged ahead with deadly accurate shooting from Jaimee Cohen.

Player of the grand final, Ox Sheilas’ Goal Keeper Reina Cross made her mark on the match taking a number of intercepts but it was EveryDay Heroes’ night and they closed out the match winning 28-24.
