CPS are area swim champions

The Cobar Public School representative swimming team had a hot day, both in and out of the pool at last week’s Nyngbar Area Swimming Carnival.
Cobar took out the Area Carnival champion’s shield with Attila Szekely breaking four records in his 10 years age group.
He finished first in the 50 metres freestyle event in record breaking time along with his Junior Boys’ 50 metres backstroke and butterfly events.
Attila also set a new record in the Junior Boys 200 metres medley swim.
A first place in the Junior Boys’ 50 metres breaststroke and second place in the Boys’ 100 metres freestyle capped off a big day for Attila.
Gizella Szekely also had a successful day with first places in her Girls’ 12 years 50 metres
freestyle, Girls’ 12/13 metres breaststroke and butterfly events as well as the Girls’ 200 metres medley swim.
Claude Beitz won his Boys’ 11 years 50 metres backstroke and butterfly events.
Tayla Pennell was first in the Junior Girls’ 50 metres breaststroke and backstrokes swims.
Marnie Whytcross won the Girls’ All Age freestyle swim.
Tyra Hausia took out the Girls’ 8 years 50 metres Freestyle and Liam Richardson was first home in the Boys’ 8 years freestyle swim.
Jarrod Harvey won the Boys’ 11 years 50 metres breaststroke swim and the Junior Boys’ relay team of Attila Szekely, Hayden Vloedmans, Eschar Luck and Liam Richardson finished in first place.—contributed
