Rain interrupts men’s golf schedules
Wednesday August 4, 2010
There’s not a great deal of men’s golf news to report this week as Wednesday’s scheduled game was washed out.
Also the Inter Mine Challenge day on Saturday was cancelled due to the condition of the course.
However 21 players turned out on Sunday to contest the men’s Stableford event.
With the weather not allowing the course to be mown during the week and the prolific growing of clover on the fairways, scoring was well below par.
The winner on the day was young Jacob Ryan with a score of 42 points.
Filling the minor positions were Garry Wilkin (39) and Wayne Martin (36).
Nearest the pins shots were recorded by John Collins and Jay Egan.
This Saturday will be a Par round followed on Sunday by the Tooheys 3 person Ambrose event.
Also on Sunday the Sureshot CPS NSW 4B Play–Off will be held in Nyngan.
Just a reminder for all Veteran golfers to get their nominations in for the NSW Veteran Sand Green Championships to be held in Cobar on October 9 and 10.
Interested players may see John Collins for details of the event.—contributed
