Bustling Market Day
Wednesday May 6,2009

The first of the Cobar Business Association’s monthly Markets in the Main Street on Saturday was a huge success if the crowd of
shoppers was anything to go by. Many local shoppers commented that it was hard to get a park in the busy street while a number of
travellers passing through town said they felt compelled to stop “to see what all the commotion was about”. One of the Market Day organisers, Steph Wilson, said she was very happy with their first Market Day. “It was great. All the shops got into the spirit and with 15 extra stall holders that sold a range of goods from homemade produce, clothing, jewellery, gift wear, cosmetics, baby products and plants it all combined to make a very successful day,” Mrs Wilson said. “I received some very positive comments from market stall holders and business owners.” She said she has already had two stall holders wanting to re-book for the next market as well as
inquiries from two new stall holders. “Everyone made a big effort which is what made it so successful. Having a Mother’s Day pink theme was also a good idea.” She said a wrap up of the Market Day will be discussed at the association’s monthly meeting next week along with plans and ideas on how to make next month’s Market Day even better.
