Jackson steps down from EDMS exec

Wednesday July 7, 2010

Every Day Mine Services (EDMS) founder Roger Jackson has resigned from his position as an executive of the company.
Mr Jackson will remain on the board of the company as a non-executive director and will assist the company as a consultant.
According to a press release from the company last week announcing changes to the board, Mr Jackson is “ a well known character in the Australian resources sector”.
He founded EDMS as a private company in Cobar in 1995, and has helped grow the company to an ASX-listed, diversified group comprising four subsidiaries with contracts in NSW and Queensland.
“As the company grows it is appropriate to hand over to an experienced operational management team,” Mr Jackson said.
“I will assist this team wherever I can to make EDMS a stronger and more effective company,” he said.
The company last week also announced the appointment of Paul Brenton as the chief financial officer of EDMS.
EDMS managing director Stephen McCoy said Mr Brenton will take up the role in August.
Mr McCoy has also recently undertaken an initial review of the EDMS business to assess the effectiveness of the current processes and structure.
“The company will be making a further announcement in the coming weeks on the outcome of this review including additional key management appointments, and a number of organisational and process enhancements to improve the commercial performance of the company,” Mr McCoy said.
