Cobar hosts 4x4 competition
Wednesday July 7, 2010

Cobar residents may have noticed 4WD vehicles of all shapes and sizes passing through town late last week, with the Navrun 4WD Events Ironman Cliffhanger
competition held on a private property west of Cobar over the weekend. Around 70 teams took part in the event which included winch, navigation, speed and short course challenges. Many competitors and their families are camping on the property for the week, however the event is still a major boost to the Cobar economy with fuel stations and food outlets kept busy by the visitors. The Cobar branch of St John
Ambulance provided medical support for the weekend. With more than $30,000 prizemoney on offer, the event is one of the richest 4WD competitions in Australia.
