The Easter weekend took its toll on numbers in the women’s golf tournaments with quite a few regular players away during the break.
Last Wednesday’s par game proved a tough affair as indicated by the scores of the place getters.
Pam Sikora took home the prize with a score of -6 followed by Angela Fryer (-8) and Sally Bannister on -9.
Sue Goonrey picked up the nearest the pin prize on the 3rd hole while Bannister claimed the prize on the 11th.
On Good Friday 13 ladies donned their Easter bonnets for a fun stableford variation day. Ann Dunn and Youlanda Taylor paired up to win the event from Pam Sikora and Sally Bannister who also won the best Easter Hats.
Third position went to the pairing of Donna Prendergast and Geraldine Francisco followed by Janine Ryan and Janet Place.
Nearest the pins prizes went to Place on the 7th hole and Sikora on the 15th.
In Saturday’s stableford round Narelle Green’s 33 points clinched the win over Anne Dunn and Youlanda Taylor (who could only be separated after a count back as both scored 31 points).
Heather Forster and Sally Bannister won the nearest the pins prizes on the 8th and 11th holes.
Only nine players were on hand to contest the par event on Sunday. Heather Forster took the honours with a score of -1 followed by Sue-Ellen Dunne (-2) and Fran Samios posted -4.
Forster and Dunne were nearest to the pins on the 3rd and 15th holes.
Easter Monday’s stableford had a better turn out with 12 players to round off the long weekend. Pam Sikora not only won the day scoring 36 points, but also grabbed both the nearest the pins prizes on the 7th and 11th holes.
The runner-up on the day was Fran Samios with 33 points followed by Chrissy Gilligan (30 points) and Angela Fryer (28 points).
The well deserving Prostrate Cancer Charity Day is scheduled for Saturday.
The composition of the game to be played will be explained in detail before starting. Men’s, women’s and mixed teams are eligible so players are encouraged to get organised ASAP.
Sunday is the Keno Mixed 4BBB competition with the first three winning pairs going on to the next round in Coonamble.—T'd Off
