Full on program of lawn bowls

The Easter period at the Bowling and Golf Club was full on with a number of bowls events on the program.
Starting with the Golden Oldies game last Thursday where Bill Dickson and Rod Leahy scored 12 points to win from Ken Harper, Don Datson and Dick Roberts on 11 points from the 10 starters on the green.
It was good to see a group of ladies bowling again on the Golfie greens with Ailsa Osborne, Kath Manns and Sue Goonrey the winners last Thursday.
Good Friday rounded up 12 starters with the winners Bob Clark and Lance McBride on +10 from runners-up Paul Henry and Rod Leahy on +6.
The Sunday Dollar Run attracted 18 starters for the best attendance of the year. Among the group were visitors Jamie Dargue, Brad Arnold, Greg Delaney, Les Houghton, David Braniff and Estelle and Les O’Brien.
The winner was the triple team of Dargue, ‘Pottsy’ Arnold and Lance McBride with +14 from runners up Ken Harper and Jim Goonrey on +11.
Garry Middleton had a win over Jack Tulloh 31-23 last week in the Club Singles Championship. Round 2 still has a few contests to be played before closing this Sunday.
The No 7 Pennants competition continues this Sunday when the Golfie teams play the Services sides at the Services Club.
