Bannister Day

The annual golf Bannister Day was held on Saturday with 29 men golfers participating.

The men’s winner on the day was Ian Prendergast with 46 stableford points.

He was followed by Scott Mayne (42) and Paul Hay (42).

Nearest the pins were recorded by Peter Brien, Garry Hay, Mark Edgecombe and Mayne.

A field of 15 pairs teed off on Sunday to contest the Foursomes Championships in three grades. Craig Dillon and Greg Read took out the A Grade recording 115 points for the 27 hole event.

B Grade went to John Potter and Jacob Ryan (124) with the C Grade winners being Ben Huxley and Bayley Prendergast (149).

Net winners on the day were Potter and Ryan (100¾), followed by Garry Hay and Bruce Mitchell (105) and Alan and Dave Knight (107).

Nearest the pins went to Craig Dillon, Mick Bannister and Peter Brien.

Last Wednesday 10 players contested a par event with Ray Yench (+4), Tom Fox (+1) and Robert Fing (+2) the winners.

Only one nearest the pin was recorded by Bob Baker.

This Saturday a stableford will be played while Sunday’ game will be a par event.

Also on Sunday the Trangie Open will be held and intending players should contact Peter Brien to allow transport to be organised.—contributed
