Cobar junior netballers wrap up their 2009 season
Thursday October 8, 2009

Cobar Yabbies had their first swim in virtually freezing conditions on Tuesday.
The Cobar Yabbies Senior Men’s Swimming Club members had been looking forward to taking the plunge for their first swim of the 2009/2010 season when the pool opened earlier this week.
However that was until Cobar experienced some rather cool temperatures over the weekend which didn’t help to improve the water temperature and there were some rather blue looking Yabbies emerging from the pool on Tuesday night.
While the cool water aided some swimmers (those keen to get in and out quickly) others froze and were slower than anticipated.
The winner of the 30 metres event was Scott Toomey who swam within 0.11seconds of his nominated time, with Bob Clark and Matt Harland taking out the minor placings.
The 50 metres event was taken out by Attila Szekely who swam within 0.07seconds of his nominated time, while Murray Harland came second and Matt Harland was third.
Scott Toomey and Mick Howell took out the Brace Relay just ahead of Jason Toomey and Dave Power, with Brad Lennon and Bill Fugar third.
The 100m was cancelled due to the cold!
