Appeal for witnesses to fatal accident

Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of an 80 year old woman last week.
The woman was struck by a Kenworth Prime Mover at the intersection of Barton and Marshall streets at about 4pm Wednesday September 30.
The truck stopped and the woman was taken by ambulance to Cobar Hospital where she later died.
The male truck driver was interviewed by police and released pending further inquiries.
A report is being prepared for the coroner and investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or the events leading up to it, to contact Cobar Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Cobar Police have commended the
people who comforted the woman following the incident, and assisted with traffic control prior to the arrival of emergency services
personnel.
