Louth ready for big field day crowds
Wednesday June 9, 2010
Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton has been given the honour of officially opening this year’s Louth Field Day.
The event is celebrated biannually at Louth with the last field day attracting 450 people.
One of Louth locals helping to organise the event, Samantha Mooring, said they were hoping for turn out of about the same size this year.
“It might even be more with the Fergie Tractor Run followers,” she said.
This year’s event already has 38 exhibiters booked with a range of products and
demonstrations on show including motorbikes, irrigation, fencing, shearing supplies,
toys, candles, jewellery, gifts, handicraft, plants, leather, tools and workwear to name a few.
The Rural Fire Service, Darling Livestock Health and Pest Authority and Western Catchment Management Authority and Rural Councillor will also have information stands at this year’s event.
An auction to aid the Royal Flying Doctor Service is set down for the afternoon.
With catering all day provided by the Bourke Lions Club, a camp oven dinner on Saturday night and live music by ‘Joso’ at Shindy’s Inn, this year’s Louth Field Day is promising to be great family day out.
