Water carting to start in Euabalong
Wednesday December 9, 2009
Cobar Shire Council is anticipating that water carting to Euabalong will begin this week as the village’s water supply runs dry.
A teleconference of councils along the Lachlan River last week agreed on uniform water restrictions (which still must be approved by each individual council) however the decision is unlikely to improve Euabalong’s situation.
Cobar Shire Council’s general manager Ray Smith said all towns are likely to go on level two water restrictions, however towns where water is carted, such as Euabalong, would be restricted to 150L per person per day usage.
