Teeing off on the first day of women’s golf competition for 2010 on Saturday were Julie Gibson, Angela Fryer, Robynne Morton and Narelle Green.

The 2010 Cobar Ladies golf season kicked off on Saturday with 14 players contesting a nine hole stableford event.
While the course looks very green after all the rain, the conditions were tough as the grass was reported growing underfoot on the fairways with many a ball swallowed up, never to be found again.
The winner on the day was Jannine Wilkin with 15 points.
Youlanda Taylor came in second on a count back from Narelle Green, both scoring 14 points.
Nearest the pins went to Green on the 3rd hole and Taylor on the 7th.
Sunday’s par game attracted a small field of eight players with Narelle Green taking the prize with a score of -4 .
She was followed by Angela Fryer (-7) and Anne Dunn (-8).
Nearest the pins were recorded by Angela Fryer on the 8th and 15th holes.
Today’s game is a stableford round with a par event on Saturday and another stableford on Sunday.
There’s been a late change to the 2010 Women’s Golf program with the cancellation of the Albert Women’s Open.
A 4BBB mixed competition will be held instead. More information about the program change is posted on the golfer’s notice board at the Golfie.—T'd Off.
