Shamwows’ Damian Frize eludes Untouchables’ Luke Haldoupis’ touch in Sunday’s Cobar Blues Touch Challenge at Ward Oval..
The Untouchables were the winners of the Cobar Blues Touch Challenge competition on Sunday at Ward Oval.
The fun day was a fundraiser for the Cobar Blues Football and Netball Club and was also a chance for players from all different sporting codes to get in some fun pre-season fitness.
The Untouchables won the day from the field of six teams. Shamwows were the runners-up with Endeavor in third place.
Untouchables’ Ray Ebsworth and Kitty Haldoupis were the top male and female try scorers of the day.
Touch Challenge organiser Tanya Huon said the day was a great success.
“We really appreciated the support we got from our major sponsor, the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club, umpires Michael Warren and Kelly Bridge, the barbecue and canteen helpers as well as all the participants and spectators,” Ms Huon said.
She said the money raised from the day will go towards lights for the netball courts at Ward Oval.
