Mixed summer golf comp kick starts

The mixed summer golf competition kick started on Wednesday with 17 players contesting both the 18 hole event and the nine hole chicken run.
Winners of the 18 hole event were Max Phillips (43 points), Janet Place (40) and Scott Meadows (38).
Nearest the pins were recorded by Wayne Josephson, Scott Meadows, Klae McGuinness and Janine Ryan (2).
Placings in the chicken run went to Bill Fugar (29 net), Max Phillips (30½) and Klae McGuinness (31).
Insufficient numbers were on hand for an 18 hole competition on Saturday however seven players contested the nine hole chicken run with the winner being Neville Fugar with a 31½ net score.
A field of 11 players teed off on Sunday morning to play the 18 hole stableford event resulting in a win for Cliff Wyllie who recorded a score of 42 points.
He was followed by Doug Simpson (39) and Patrick Bourke (38).
Nearest the pins went to Cliff Wyllie, Peter Brien, Patrick Bourke and two to Bruce Mitchell.
A group of 18 players contested the Sunday nine hole chook run with the eventual money going to Troy Hartman (33), Cliff Wyllie (33) and Peter Brien (34½).
Commencing this week the tee-off times for the 18 hole competition will be 8.30anm in lieu of 8am.
As from December 17 the Wednesday competitions will also tee-off at 8.30am.—Ernie
