Efforts underway to recruit dentist

Efforts are currently underway to recruit a new dentist for Cobar with a number of general enquiries about the position received.
Cobar Shire Council’s general manager Ray Smith said an advertisement has been placed on the Dentist Job Search network.
“We consulted [former Cobar dentist] Monica O’Malley about how to go about recruiting a new dentist.
“She said [the Dentist Job Search site] is the best site for that purpose,” Mr Smith said.
He said he received an email enquiry last week from a dentist based in Sydney calling for more information about the practice, as well as interest from another dentist.
Cobar’s dental surgery, equipment and attached house are all owned by Cobar Shire Council, and are being offered for lease.
Council has submitted a grant application for an upgrade to the surgery, but will not find out if the grant application is successful until at least May this year.
