Month worth of rain falls in one week in Cobar

It was another wet and cold week in Cobar with the monthly average rainfall measured in under three days.

After 22mm was recorded up to 9am last Tuesday, a further 13.6mm fell to 9am last Wednesday with more minor falls recorded on Thursday and Sunday mornings.

The total for the week at the Cobar Meteorological Office was 39mm, well above the June average rainfall figure of 26.3mm.

While the sun was out for most of the day on Thursday and Friday, the rest of the week was mostly overcast and temperatures were kept under 20 degrees.

The coldest day of the week was last Monday when the temperature ranged from 11 degrees to 13 degrees all day, with similar conditions recorded on Tuesday.

The warmest day of the week was Thursday when a top of 18.6 degrees was recorded.

An early frost is forecast today before a fine day with a top temperature of 13 degrees.

Another early frost is predicted for tomorrow, with the temperature expected to drop down to zero before a fine day with a top of 14 degrees.

A slightly warmer weekend is forecast, with the temperature to range from six to 16 degrees on Saturday and seven to 17 degrees on Sunday.
