Vince’s Restaurant proprietor Gary Fung with the inaugural Cobar Business Association Excellent Service Award winner Bede Jermyn and Cobar Business Association president Michael Cox last Friday night.

The Cobar Business Association announced on Friday night the inaugural winner of their Excellent Service Award, which aims to recognise people who put that little extra into their work.

The first recipient of the award, Bede Jermyn is a waiter at Vince’s Chinese Restaurant at the Services Club.

Part of his nomination read “his manner is extremely courteous, his service is exceptional. We notice he treats everyone who enters the restaurant the same and it is such a bonus for Cobar to have someone like him in the service field”.

Bede was presented with a certificate of achievement and Cobar Quids of $50 by Cobar Business Association president Michael Cox on Friday night.

“Eligibility for the award covers all in the service area, young and old, but it is very pleasing that the first winner is a young man who has set himself such a high standard,” Mr Cox said.

The Cobar Business Association aims to present an Excellent Service Award each month.

Nominations can be made by members of the public.

Employers are not permitted to nominate their own staff.

Nomination forms are available at the library or via email at admin.cba@cobar.nsw.gov.au
