Kennedy sports a new handicap

Thursday June 11, 2009

As predicted, last Wednesday’s women’s golf match was washed out along with the afternoon competition on Saturday.

The early birds on Saturday however managed to get around the course before the rain came.

Rachael Kennedy is sporting a new handicap following her +3 score in the par event.

Janine Ryan was the runner-up with an even card while Vivian Beehan took third spot as well as the nearest the pin on the 7th hole.

Sunday’s stableford game was a three-way tussle for the top spot with Alma Rogers, Rachael Kennedy and Janine Ryan all racking up 29 points on the damp course.

Sally Bannister was next on 26 points.

Ryan collected both nearest the pins prizes on the third and 11th holes.

Monday’s flag event stroke competition winner was Pat Mitchell with a 75 net score.

Gloria Hay grabbed second spot on a count back from Sally Bannister (29 points each).

Bannister was also the putting winner with 25 putts.

The 16 Cobar golfers who travelled to Wanaaring for the Open on the weekend all reported a wonderful time and were looked after to the fullest.

T he second day of the International Bowl stroke event was to have been played yesterday—weather permitting.

There has been three postponements due to the weather.

The Western District Ladies Golf Association Sand Green Teams event will be played in Trundle today with a team from Cobar making the trek.

The Fourth Round of the Women’s Golf NSW Monthly Medal stroke event will be played on Saturday and the Ladies Foursomes competition will be played over 27 holes with a 10 am start on Sunday.—T’d Off
