Past and present members of Cobar Pony Club gathered over the weekend for a reunion to celebrate the club’s 50th anniversary.
Cobar Pony Club celebrated its 50 year reunion over the weekend with a number of successful functions.
Old and new members attended the weekend coming from as far away as Sydney, Mudgee, the NSW North Coast, Manildra, Newell, Nyngan, Bourke, Dubbo, Hermidale, Broken Hill, as well as many locals.
Approximately 40 members attended the meet and greet on Saturday afternoon at the Cobar Pony Club clubhouse, viewing the fantastic range of old and new photos, videos and newspaper clippings collected over the past 50 years.
On Saturday night the club held a dinner dance with around 100 guests, with speeches and stories recalling memories of the club’s history as well as a tribute to those who had organised the weekend.
The reunion and celebrations concluded with a breakfast on Sunday morning at the clubhouse.
The oldest member to attend was Sam Pardy and his wife June, from Manildra, originally from Lerida Station; while the youngest attendees were Millie and Poppy Bell, twin daughters of Craig and Rebel Bell (nee Sikora).
