Langford Day draws 46 to the tee

The Annual Langford Golf Day was contested on Sunday which was a Mixed Canadian event and drew 46 players to the tee.
The winners were the husband and wife team of Peter and Tess Lloyd with a score of 63 ⅜.
They were followed by Dean McLeod and Geraldine Francisco (63½) and Murray Robotham and Jackie Smith (65).
The men’s nearest the pins prizes went to Bill Fugar, Cliff Wyllie and Dave Knight while the ladies nearest the pins were hit by Janet Place and Geraldine Francisco.
The men’s golf stableford event on Saturday attracted 26 golfers.
The winner on the day was Piers Brown with 45 points. He was chased home by Daryn Lord (42) and Garry Wilkin (41).
Nearest the pins were hit by Garry Hay, Peter Brien and Bayley Prendergast.
A field of nine starters played a par event on Wednsday with the placings going to Bill Bartlett (+2), Max Phillips (+2) and Derek Beehan (+1).
Nearest the pins went to Joseph Patten (21) and Scott Meadows.
This Saturday’s game will be a Three Person Ambrose event sponsored by Polyfabrications with a tee off time of 10am.
Sunday will feature the last monthly medal for 2009 which is a stableford event.—contributed
