The Cobar Senior Men’s Swimming Club (Yabbies) came together on Friday night to celebrate the end of another successful season.
Club president Ian Settree said the 2009/2010 season had once again been another good year for the Yabbies in and out of the pool.
Mr Settree reported on the accomplishments of the Cobar swimmers at the annual Five Ways Swim (which the Cobar club hosted) as well as their achievements at the AIF national championships at Nelson Bay.
At the nationals Cobar swimmer Stuart Small swam very well to be named swimmer of the meet, and the Cobar team was runner-up in the six man championship relay, a title they were defending from the year before.
Presentations were then made to the 2009/2010 individual and overall club champions.
Scott Toomey was the winner of the 30 metres event; Murray Harland won the 50 metres title while Bill Fugar took out the 100 metres prize for the 2009/2010 season.
Fugar also collected the Brace Relay champions prize with team mate Rob Dickerson.
Sean Pennell was named most improved swimmer of the season, Peter Brien received the Brush Award (for most outstanding performance on an away trip) and Harland was the overall point score winner of the season.
