Dr Trevor Smith has joined the team at Cobar Primary Health Care Centre, and is
hoping to stay for at least three years.
A new long term doctor has joined the team at Cobar Primary Health Care Centre.
Dr Trevor Smith, who started seeing patients yesterday, said he is looking to stay with the centre for “at least three years”.
“I spent the last few years working in the emergency department in Campbelltown (in Sydney), so I was really looking for a change of lifestyle,” Dr Smith told The Cobar Weekly on Monday.
Dr Smith is South African born, and
completed his training there before
working in places such as Saudi Arabia
and the United Kingdom.
He has been in Australia for the past five years, and said he has already started to feel “at home” in Cobar.
“Something I noticed as I was driving here was that the vegetation and the terrain is very similar to parts of South Africa,” Dr Smith said.
“I have already noticed that everyone here is very friendly,” he said.
Dr Smith said he is looking forward
to working in the Cobar Primary Health
Care Centre, describing it as “a very well run facility”.
