Professor speaks at dinner
Wednesday November 12, 2008

Cobar’s mine general managers Nigel Slonker (CSA), Peter Lloyd (Peak Gold Mines) and David Vink (Endeavor Mine) as well as Cobar Australasian Institute of Mining Metallurgy (AusIMM) branch chairman Rex Berthelsen were among the crowd when special guest Professor Ian Plimer spoke at the Cobar branch dinner on Friday night at Coppers Restaurant. Professor Plimer is an outspoken critic of popular climate change theory, and has published works on his belief that climate change is an
inevitable part of a “dynamic planet”. He is also notorious for suing an archaeologist who claimed to have located the remains of Noah’s Ark. Professor Plimer is a
director of CBH Resources, and while in Cobar took the time to meet with Endeavor Mine general manager David Vink to discuss the mine’s recent retrenchments. “Our people are our most valuable resource,” Professor Plimer said on Friday.
