Mitchell records good round for a win

A field of 13 players teed-off on Saturday to contest the men’s golf stableford event which was won by Bruce Mitchell with a good round of 42 points.
Minor placings went to Shane Carter (40) and John Collins (38).
Nearest the pins were recorded by Jeb Bishop and Mick Bannister.
Twenty mixed teams of two players per team turned out on Sunday for the annual Langford Day.
This event was a mixed Canadian and has been held and sponsored by the Langford family for the past 45 years.
Winners of the day were Phil Gilligan and Chrissy Grammer with 64 net. (Phil and Chrissy keep winning these mixed events, perhaps a closer look at their handicap may be in order.)
Minor placings went to Max and Sue Phillips (65¾) and Michael and Janine Ryan (69¼).
Nearest the pins hit by the men golfers went to Gary Hay, Phil Gilligan, Max Phillips and Dave Knight.
The ladies nearest the pins went to Vi McLaughlin, Heather Forster, Chrissy Grammer, Janine Ryan and Kelly Mathieson.
This Saturday will be a stroke event while Sunday will be a stableford event.
Following the golf on Saturday night will be the Golf Club’s presentation dinner.—Ernie
