Papalote gets the crowd going
Wednesday May 13, 2009

The crowd was on their feet and dancing at last Wednesday’s performance by
Papalote, a Latin-American group. A crowd of around 200 community members and school students gathered at the Cobar Bowling and Golf Club for the performance presented by Cobar Arts Council. The interactive performance allowed students to not only dance the salsa and mambo, but they were able to have a go at some of the many Latin American instruments the Papalote group has collected from across the world. The performance also included an educational component, and a number of Cobar High School students also participated in a workshop after the performance. The visit to Cobar was facilitated by Musica Viva and Outback Arts.
