St John’s School students received a week of coaching in gymnastics through Quality Sporting Services at the school last week.
Quality Sporting Services gymnastics coach, 24 year old Kenji Suzuki from Tokyo, Japan, put the St John’s children through their paces teaching them about the importance of stretching and being flexible.
“The children learnt many exciting and new games and exercises to improve both mind and body,” the school’s publicity officer Doris Powell said.
She said students were instructed in correct body positions as well as how to do hand stands, rolls and balancing exercises.
Over the next two weeks Mr Suzuki will be travelling to other isolated schools including Ivanhoe, Bourke, White Cliffs and Menindee to teach the basics of gymnastics.
