Good field on the golf course to raise funds for cancer

Among those taking part in the Charity Golf Day for Prostate Cancer on Saturday were David and Tina Gordon and Jannine and Garry Wilkin. Jannine recorded the best women’s score on the day.
A total of 48 players turned out at Cobar Golf Club on Saturday to support the Charity day for Prostate Cancer, contesting a 6x6 Stableford event.
The winners on the day were Garry Dunn and Jacob Ryan with 72, followed by Matt Russell and Daryl Lynch (70) in second place with Phil and Chrissy Gilligan (59) filling third place.
The best score by a lady golfer was shared by Fran Samios and Jannine Wilkin, both with 35.
The best scores for the men were recorded by Matt Russell (51) and Garry Dunn (41).
Nearest the pins prizes went to Geoff Rorke, Fay Hardwick, Garry Hay, Sally Bannister and Craig Dillon.
The Keno Mixed 4BBB on Sunday was contested by 16 teams with Bob and Ruth Baker (46) winning from Janine and Jacob Ryan (44) and Alec Burton and Diane McLeod (43).
Best scorers for the ladies were Brenda
Fugar and Pat Mitchell, both with 32 points.
The best scores for the for the men’s were recorded by Garry Hay (41) and Alec Burton (40).
Bob Baker rounded off a good day recording three nearest the pins with Burton and Garry Wilkin recording one apiece.
This weekend a stableford event will be played on both Saturday and Sunday.—contributed
