Bowls Club Championships
are underway

The Men’s Bowls Club Championships games are continuing at the Services Club, with a win last week for Paddy Phillips and Barry Francisco in the Pairs competition.
Phillips and Francisco defeated Alan Strange and Ken Harper.
Francisco’s luck however didn’t continue into his singles match which he lost to Stuart Brown.
The Lady Bowlers commenced their Club Pairs Championships last week with further games scheduled for this week.
Six players braved the cool weather last Wednesday for the Golden Oldies game.
After trailing for most of the game, Paddy Phillips, Alan Strange and Reg Whitla scored a six on the final end to force an extra end to be played however they were unable to continue onto the winners’ spot, and were eventually defeated by Kevin Kershaw, Ken Harper and Joe Chandler.
There were nine players on the green for Saturday’s game of Jackpot Bowls.
Kevin Kershaw and Reg Whitla were the winners from Ron Hanns, Joy Josephson and Alan Strange.
The Jackpot did not go off.—Wrong Bias
