Four archers from the Cobar Bowman’s Club competed at a national event over the weekend at Red Cliffs (near Mildura) with local John Arnold collecting a national first place medal.
The four were among 320 competitors at the national Australia Bowmen Association’s Australian National Safari championships conducted over the Easter weekend.
The event contested bare bow, sighted and 3D competitions and attracted competitors from across New South Wales as well as archers from Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania.
Arnold earned his first place medal in the Sighted Division Flight One Unlimited competition and also placed second in the 3D Division Flight One Unlimited class.
Pete Rogers also had a good weekend competing in the Historical Long Bow division.
He finished second in both the Sighted/Bare Bow and 3D sections.
