Junior league wraps up season with trophy presentations

The Cobar Junior Rugby League Club wrapped up its season on Saturday with trophy presentations at Tom Knight Memorial Oval.
Wade Potter was named Junior Clubman of the Year.
In the Under 9s Division the Best and Fairest trophy was shared by Chris Crotty, Zeb Coughlan and Drea Dowling-Allen.
Tyler Coughlan was Most Improved while Padraic MeElhone and Fred Maclean shared the Best Defender trophy.
Jackson Goonrey won the Sportsmanship award and Coopa Martin was the Most Consistent player.
All players in the U/9s Division received medals for participation.
Other awards went to: Under 11s: Best and Fairest—Max Hillier; Most Improved—Mat Dillon; Player with the Biggest Heart—Jay Ellison; Best Back—Jackson Hourn; Best Forward—Matilda Power; Most Consistent Player—Blye Dawson; Coach’s Award; Patrick Hallcroft.
Under 13s: Best and Fairest—Max Smith; Most Improved—Alex Madden; Player with the Biggest Heart—Brayden O’Hanlon; Best Back—Jacob Good; Best Forward—Braydon Pennell; Most Consistent Player—Brodie O’Hanlon; Coach’s Award—Jock Beazley.
Under 15s: Best and Fairest—Tom Sellick; Most Improved—Cameron Dunlevy; Player with the Biggest Heart—Bradley Harris; Top
Tackler—Jim Delboux; Best Back—Wade Potter; Best Forward—Khaleb Whitehurst; Most Consistent Player—Macauley Dawson and Coach’s Award—David Watson.
Presentations were also given to the referees, first aid officers, bus driver, gate and canteen workers and groundsman for their time and efforts throughout the season.
Following the presentations the club held its annual general meeting. Outgoing president Tony Ellison was acknowledged for his dedication to the club.
Brett (Pud) Hallcroft is the newly elected president for the 2010 season.
He will be assisted by new vice president Tony Ellison, secretary Racquel Potter, and treasurer Bruce Kennedy. The new registrars are Sandra Cranch and Tammy Hallcroft.—contributed
