Gala soccer day attracts hundreds of juniors

Cobar’s Mini Wanderers Eli Hausier, Jed O’Neill and Jack Fazulla take on the Nyngan Blue side at the Cobar Junior Soccer Gala Day at Ward Oval on Saturday.
On Saturday the Cobar Junior Soccer Club hosted the Western Plains
Soccer Association’s Zone Gala Day in above average temperatures at Ward Oval.
Ten Cobar teams participated in the
competition as well as 21 teams from
Nyngan, Trangie, Tottenham, Bourke, Warren and Gilgandra.
Approximately 300 junior soccer players aged from 5-14 years played a number of games in the Mini, Intermediate and Senior divisions.
The games were played with 10 minute halves with immediate change over at half time.
The games flowed well throughout the day with only a short break between each game.
No scores were recorded.
The Cobar Junior Soccer club will
wrap up its season this Saturday with
finals games and presentations.—contributed
