Local audiences, as well as a number of visitors, were treated to ‘A Night at the
Oscars’ last week which was the result of a full year of hard work by teachers and students of the Western Studio of Performing Arts (WSoPA) Cobar. In front of three capacity crowds last Thursday and Friday at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club, the huge cast danced (and sang) their way through a three hour program that featured traditional Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Modern dances. Performers ranged from just three years of age right up to 67 years and included celebrity guest appearances of Hollywood look-alikes and local ‘stars’. It was the ninth annual concert for WSoPA Cobar and plans are already underway for next year’s event.
