Golfie’s Cecil Howlett at front and Services Club’s Ron Hanns (waiting to bowl at rear) during Sunday’s No 7 Pennants match at the Golfie greens..

The Golfie’s No 7 Pennant bowls sides had a 6-0 win against the Services Club last Sunday at the Golf Club greens.
The individual scores were, in order of play: Don Datson, Sid Fugar, Tom Fox and Garry Middleton defeated Don McGuiness, Barry Francisco, Jack Neale and Kevin Kershaw
22-21; Bob ‘Aka’ Howlett, Cecil Howlett, Ben Jentjens and Terry Clyde defeated Alan Strange, Ron Hanns, Dick Roberts and Kyle Roberts 29-22; Dave Knight, Jack Tulloh, Don Roberts and Peter Franks defeated Ken Harper, Bob Williams, Peter Lewis and Paddy Phillips 30-6.
There were 10 players last week for the Golden Oldies game and the field was the first to play on the recently reconditioned Tift Dwarf green which was quiet playable after such a long idle period.
Max Humphries, Jack Tulloh and Rod Leahy, on 10 points were the winners after a count back from both eight point pairs teams.—Max
