Cobar ready for visitor influx
Wednesday March 17, 2010

As the weather starts to cool down, Cobar’s visitors numbers tend to increase. That is already the case, with tourist numbers on the rise again. Last week Drummond Park was filled with visitors when a tour bus stopped in the town for a lunch break. Among those on the bus were Dennis and Inge Mackay and Michael and Shirley Ferguson, all from the Central Coast. The group were on an ‘Outback’ bus tour, which took in areas such as Lightning Ridge. Many members of the group took the opportunity
during the lunch break to wander the main streets of Cobar and have a look around. Cobar’s local tourism industry has displayed a steady rise in visitor numbers over the past few years, with efforts underway by the Cobar Business Association to further develop the industry.
