Marsden to coach Roosters Reserves
Wednesday March 17, 2010
The Cobar Rugby League Football Club (CRLFC) has recently appointed Jarrod Marsden as their Roosters Reserve Grade coach for the 2010 season.
Marsden joins Cole Jermyn (First Grade) and Benn Wright (Under 18s) on the Cobar Roosters 2010 coaching panel.
“Jarrod brings with him a wealth of experience in both rugby league and rugby union and has proven in the past that he is a valuable asset to any sporting club that he is a member of,” CRLFC secretary Michael Hart said.
“I’m sure that Jarrod’s likeable personality will help with the retention of current players and the recruitment of new players for the 2010 season.”
Marsden has previously captain/coached the Cobar Camels rugby side, has been a recipient of the Camels clubman of the year award twice and also served as president of the club.
He also pulled on a Cobar Blues AFL jumper a couple of times last season to play when the Blues have struggled to put a side on the field.
“I just like being out on the paddock, whatever sport I’m playing,” Marsden said.
“When I was younger I played all through junior league up until Under 18s and then I found a home with the Camels,” Marsden said.
A recent serious injury however has ruled out playing any sport for at least 12 months.
“I like coaching and that opportunity wasn’t afforded to me with the Camels this year so when Cole mentioned this Roosters coaching opportunity, I jumped at it.”
