Wednesday June 17, 2009

Cobar Public School’s (CPS) debating team of Jye Stovell, William Whitton, Emily
Claxton and Darby Waugh recently competed in the Premier’s Debating Challenge, winning their first debate against West Dubbo Public School. Debate adjudicator Julie Wilson said she was very impressed with the ideas presented by the CPS team on the theme of education. The debate was held at CPS using state of the art video conferencing facilities. The school’s second debate team will compete against Coonamble Public School this week, before both CPS teams compete against each other. ▪ Photo contributed
