After a slow but entertaining journey from Buckwaroon (30km north west of Cobar), 15 Massey Ferguson tractors converged on Louth over the weekend for the inaugural Cobar Fergie Tractor Run. The participants, ranging in age from early 20s to their 80s, took just over seven hours to make the trip to Louth on Friday, with just a
handful experiencing mechanical difficulties but all 15 able to drive on their own into the village of Louth. The group gathered for a photo opportunity outside Shindy’s Inn, and were a feature of the Louth Field Day on Saturday. Organisers Jack and Melissa Cain said most of the participants came from Cobar, with two travelling from the Parkes/Forbes area and one from Wilcannia. The weekend also raised an
estimated $10,000 to be split between charities including the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Angelflight. Plans are already in place for a return visit to the Louth Field Day in two years, as well as more events in the near future.
