Good numbers for golf competitions

Stableford events were contested on two days over the weekend with good numbers turning out for both men’s golf competitions.
A field of 29 fronted on Saturday with Daryn Lord taking home the ‘bickies’ with 44 points. He was followed by Ian Prendergast (43) and Jay Egan (42).
Nearest the pins were hit by Mal Gilbert, Bob Baker and two by Neville Fugar.
Another 26 golfers turned out for Sunday’s game with the day won by Bill Fugar with a score of 41 followed by Garry Wilkin (41) and Geoff Dunne (41).
Nearest the pins were hit by Bayley Prendergast, Bill Fugar and Jacob Ryan.
A field of 13 pairs contested a 4-Ball Multiplier event on Monday with the pairing of Ian and Bayley Prendergast too good for the rest of the field.
They finished with a score of 95 ahead of Jacob Ryan/Bill Fugar (93) and Lincoln Brenton/ Wayne Betcke (89).
Nearest the pins were recorded by Jim Russell, Craig Dillon, Wayne Josephson and two by Bob Baker.
A group of 13 players fronted for a Stableford game last Wednesday with Brad Gilligan winning the day with 46 points.
Following him home were Cliff Wyllie (42) and Ben Huxley (42).
Nearest the pins were hit by Wyllie and Huxley.
This Saturday is the mixed Foursomes Championship with a tee off time of 10am.
Sunday’s game will be a par event and also on Sunday players will be heading to the
Tottenham Open as well as Bourke’s Pro–Am event.—contributed
