Generous donation

Burgess SUPA IGA manager Louise Machul made a special visit to the Cobar
Hospital Auxiliary’s Christmas party on Friday night at the Cobar Bowling and Golf Club to present the organisation with a cheque for $5,000. The donation is part of the IGA Community Chest programme, which raises money for community groups through the sale of Black & Gold and IGA products. The donation is extra special in that it is the largest ever given by Burgess SUPA IGA under the programme, and the largest single donation received by the hospital auxiliary. Mrs Machul said the
auxiliary was a worthy recipient as they are “always working hard for families in Cobar”. Hospital auxiliary president Phyllis Budd said the money will most likely go towards new vertical blinds in the activities room at the hospital.
