Cobar Little A’s compete at Zone Carnival in Dubbo

A contingent of 21 Cobar Little Athletics members competed at the annual Zone Athletics Championships in Dubbo on the weekend.
From the 21 athletes who competed, 16 qualified to compete at the Regional Athletics Championships at Wollongong in February.
Those who qualified were: Coopa Martin, Tyra Hughes, Jacob and Taylah Good, Matilda and Grace Power, Macauley Dawson, Max and Luke Hillier, Jackson Hourn, Jeremy and Caroline Harland, Taylor and Hayley Gilbert, Debra Poulter and Jaimee Cohen.
Two Under 7 age division athletes, Ethan Gilbert and Abby Carswell, both received four medals each.
New records were set by Jaimee Cohen and Hayley Gilbert in a new U/17s Girls Division of the competition.
Hayley set a record in the triple jump, while Jaimee set records in long jump and hurdles.—contributed
