Walkback, crazy points and chair events at clay target

Junior cricket action
Charlie Higgins, Tom Dickson, Dick Tulloh, Todd Yates and Tony Holzigal participated in the Cobar Clay Target’s Christmas Shoot Chair 10 double barrel event at the local club on Sunday.

The Cobar Clay Target Club had a very good roll up for their Christmas Shoot on Sunday with shooters from Griffith, Bourke, Hermidale, Dubbo, Narromine and Brewarrina.

It was a fun day with novelty events contested.

In the first event, an eye-opener, 17 possibles (perfect scores) were recorded.

The second event was Targets Mixed. Glen Casterello won AA Grade with Bryan Manns second. Trevor Higgins was first in A Grade with Rob Machul second.

Simon Dickson won B Grade with Geoff Fennamore in second place. Tracey Boon took out C Grade ahead of Todd Yates.

The Walkback event was won by Cliff Overton with Casterello second, Rob Thompson third, Dixon fourth and Jim Manns in fifth place.

In the Crazy Points event Ben Machul won AA Grade ahead of Cliff Overton.

Peter Boland won over Gary Jones in A Grade and Gary Kilmartin finished ahead of Hank Pritchard in B Grade.

Todd Yates was first in C Grade with Mick Bannister in second place.

Aaron Marsh won the Chair Event in AA Grade from Bryan Manns second. Phillip Bruce finished first in A Grade with Rob Machul second.

Graham Angrove won B Grade with Dickson in second place and Wanda Nicholson beat Yates for the C Grade prize.

Casterello was the winner of the AA Grade Double Rise event with Thompson finishing second.

Jim Manns won A Grade with Peter Boland second.

Angrove claimed first place in B Grade with John Crossing in second place.

Yates turned the tables on Nicholson to win this event and relegated her to second place.

After shooting well in the Crazy Points event Karen Manns teamed up with Casterello to win the Deauville Doubles with Manns shooting all her ‘birds’.

In second place was Tony Polack and Gary Kilmartin with Pritchard and Jones claiming third place.

Ben Machul was the Overall High Gun winner along with Casterello (AA Grade), Peter Boland (A Grade), Kilmartin (B Grade) Yates (C Grade), Louise Machul (Ladies) and Jim Manns (Veterans).—contributed
