Cobar Races hailed by all as a great success

The 2010 Cobar Miners Race Meeting held at Dalton Park Horse Sports Complex on Saturday is being hailed an enormous success from all quarters.
Those in the racing fraternity have labelled it as “a fantastic and well run event” while the general public have also said it was again “a great day out”.
The committee has worked hard in the past year and once again went “all out” to produce a top class race meeting presenting this year’s race goers with even better facilities than last year.
Fashions in the Field was again popular with judges this year awarding prizes to 16 entrants in seven categories.
Chris O’Hara was the Best Dressed Gentleman, Nessie Foster won Fashionable Filly, Erin Carswell had the Most Outstanding Headwear, Kim Handsaker was voted Most Elegant Lady and Lillian Simpson was the Most Classical Lady. Nicole Wilson and Ryan Urquhart the junior best dressed winners.
Chris O’Hara won the Golden Mile footrace, ahead of Shaun Meredith and Dylan Prince.
