Cobar well represented at Nyngan Swimming Carnival

A keen group of eight junior swimmers from the Cobar Swimming Club travelled to Nyngan on Sunday for the Nyngan Amateur Swimming Carnival.
A great day was had by all with glorious weather, making for great swimming conditions.
All Cobar competitors swam exceptionally well and displayed outstanding sportsmanship.
Cobar’s youngest swimmer competing on the day, Lucy Jenkins age 7, received 1st place for her 7 years girls’ 25m freestyle and 3rd place for her 25m breaststroke event.
Coopa Martin finished second in his 8 years 50m Butterfly, Backstroke and Freestyle swims.
Georgia Baker was the Cobar “star of the day” competing in 12 events where she finished with seven first places in her 12 and under girls’ 200m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle 100m Butterfly, 50m Dash for Cash, 100m Backstroke, 50m Backstroke and 200m Individual Medley races.
Georgia also obtained two second place results and recorded a personal best time of 45.97 seconds for her 50m breaststroke event.
The day finished with the Cobar under 8 crew swimming into second place in the club relay event.—contributed
