Twenty20 competition resumes with win for Ox Bushies

The local Twenty20 cricket competition resumed last Friday night after the Christmas break with the Ox Bushies claiming a comfortable 69 runs win over the Powerhouse team under lights at Ward Oval.
The Bushies won the toss and batted first and finished with the respectable total of 7/128 from their 20 overs.
Stewart Fraser 24, Craig Dillon 21 not out, Daniel Howard 18 (which included two big sixes) and Stephen Nicholson with 12 were the batsmen to make double figures.
Matt Low with 3/15, Bill Fugar 2/19 and John Potter 1/12 were the wicket takers for Sthe Powerhouse team.
Low, capping off a good all round performance, was the only Powerhouse batsman to reach double figures scoring 24.
The next highest score was Sundries with 10 followed by Jake Harbison with 8.
Powerhouse was dismissed for only 59 from 18 overs.
Craig Tanke had the best bowling figures for the Ox Bushies with 4/ 4 from his three overs and was ably supported by Fraser 2/6, Matt Nicholson 1/14, Stephen Nicholson 1/1 and Alec Fraser 1/2.
The Eagle Boys Pizza Man of the Match award went to Tanke.
Ben McBride was named the best fieldsman for Powerhouse and Mark Fraser best fieldsman for the Ox bushies.
This week’s match will be played on Saturday night with the Ox Bushies taking on the Empire team.
The Cook and Black Young Guns are the duty side.
A double header of cricket matches will be played next Tuesday at Ward Oval as part of the Australia Day celebrations.
The Harvey Norman Destroyers are matched up against the Cook and Black Young Guns with the duty team being Powerhouse.
The second match in the double in the double header will be between CSA and the Golfie Heroes.
