A new year, a new service and a new start for Kubby House
Wednesday January 21, 2009

Kubby’s fully qualified staff, pictured with some of the children attending the centre on Monday, are ready for a new year with a new occasional care service to be offered by the centre.
After fears the centre could close for good at the end of 2008, Kubby House Childcare Centre has reopened in 2009 with a new service and a fresh outlook.
This year the centre will offer occasional care for families with children aged from three months to six years.
The centre has also entered into a loan
agreement with Cobar Shire Council,
Cobar Management Pty Ltd (CSA Mine)
and Peak Gold to help clear some of the financial issues which threatened to close the centre.
Kubby committee member Kristy Schulz said the new occasional care service is a “casual” arrangement where parents access this service as they need it, rather than on a permanent basis.
“Kubby will be offering both half and full days, depending on the needs of parents,” she said.
“If eligible, Parents can receive Child Care Benefit (CCB) by accessing this service.”
The occasional care service is designed to offer flexibility to families requiring childcare.
“Parents are also offered peace of mind as their child is cared for by qualified and experienced staff in a safe, fun and friendly environment,” Mrs Schulz said.
Parents who wish to use the service are required to contact Kubby at least 24 hours in advance to book their child in, with a limit on places available.
The centre has also been in contact with Federal Member for Calare John Cobb regarding possible funding options, and is awaiting a response.
