Copper City shoot

Cobar Clay Target Club’s third Copper City Double Rise Shoot was held at the Cobar club over the weekend.

Although the numbers attending were a little disappointing, the shooting certainly was not.

Ross Walsh, a member of the Cobar club, shot 108 pair straight which was a mighty effort that won him the Overall High Gun title.

Also Jarrod Turner, a 14 year old, showed his expertise and shot well over the weekend to claim the B Grade High Gun winner’s sash.

The other High Gun winners were A Grade Rhys Eeles and AA Grade Steve Atkins.

The full results from the two day event were: Event 1—25 Pair Eye Opener, 1st, AA Grade, Bryan Manns and Rob Thompson 49/50, A Grade, Darran Wells 43/50, B Grade, Gerard Harrison 43/50, 2nd A Grade, Ross Morris 42/50, B Grade, Louise Machul 42/50.

Event 2—50 Pair Double Rise Kidman Way Championship, 1st, Overall, Walsh 100/100, AA Brian Doyle 95/100, A, James Manns 93/100, B, Turner 88/100 C, Tony Holzigal (no score available), 2nd AA Grade, Steve Atkins 93/100, A, Morris 87/100, B, Steve O’Brien 75/100.

Event 3—25 Pair Graded Meterage, 1st Overall, Turner 47/50, AA, Craig Fitzgerald 45/50, A, Wells 42/50, B, Harrison 37/50, C, Holzigal, 2nd, AA, Bryan Manns 43/50, A, Gary Jones 41/50, B, Hank Pritchard 31/50.

Event 4—25 Pair Cash Divide, 1st, AA, Wayne Dunbar, Bryan Manns, Arthur Turner 48/50; A, Eeles 48/50, A, Jarrod Turner 42/50, 2nd A, Wells, James Manns 44/50, B, Harrison, Pritchard 40/50.

Event 5—50 Pair Copper City Double Rise Championship, 1st Overall, Walsh 98/100, AA, Mark Crimmins 115/120, A, Eeles 92/100, B, Jarrod Turner 92/100, 2nd, AA, Rob Machul 114/120, A, Wells 106/120, B, Harrison 81/100.
